It may be a stupid boy's thing. But it does not happen often, that I remain silent, eyes wide open, and just want to enjoy this moment. - It happens everytime, when I happen to meet an eagle, be it while riding out in the fields or while hanging out on the banks of the Danube.

Sea eagles where extinct in Central Europe. It's only a few years ago that eagles started to breed again. One of the main reserves are the lowland forests of March and Danube in Austria and Slovakia. A few organisations like the WWF or the Greifvogelstation Haringsee do a great job to support these cool air racers. We support the WWF-Eagle-Projects, because it's one of the easiest ways and because of it's global impact. In Dust and Dirt is a supporting member. In addition, 30 % of our profits go into eagle-sponsoring with both organisations. (What do we do with the rest: It's actually not profit, we use it to develop new products, grow our business and make sure we can keep up with what we are doing. In Dust and Dirt is not supposed to make anybody rich.)

Thats's how it started. In the meantime, there is much to do. The March-Thaya-meadows between Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic are threatened by highway-projects (find more information here), and even the Danube-Nationalpark is no guarantee against new hydroelectricpowerplants ( find more information)

The eagles stay a symbol - but there is even more at stake...
